Diss Community Woodland Project cares for a growing network of community woodland spaces that support wildlife, improve local biodiversity, and offer people peaceful places to enjoy nature. It brings together Quaker Wood and Bombard Copse under one shared vision: to protect and enhance green spaces on the edge of Diss for the benefit of both people and wildlife.

The project is run by volunteers and depends on community support to keep these places thriving. Through practical conservation work, thoughtful management, and local involvement, the team helps ensure these woods remain attractive, accessible, and ecologically valuable now and for the future.

These sites are more than woodland. They are places to walk, learn, volunteer, and connect with nature close to home. From seasonal wildlife interest to opportunities for community activity, Diss Community Woodland Project aims to create habitats that are rich in life and open to all.

As the project grows, it also looks ahead to new opportunities to strengthen the natural network in and around the ‘designated Green Gap’ between Diss and Roydon, supporting biodiversity and making the most of every chance to enhance the local landscape.

Support Us

The project is managed and delivered by volunteers without any regular financial support.  We rely on the generous DONATIONS of our supporters to cover the running costs.

We really appreciate your support.

Our vision is to find further opportunities to enhance biodiversity in or near to the Green Gap* between Diss and Roydon. * The Green Gap is defined in the approved Diss and District Neighbourhood Plan.
